I'm loving Tonka's idea.

Dogs have been silly money during lockdown so here's a chance to make a new friendship and get an animal out of a shitty life.

Re: Dog barking being left in garden of empty house...what to do?
Had the same thing with my pikey neighbours, but this was left on its own inside the house, basically turned our house into a kennel, constant barking day and night. Started recording it for a few months and got the council round.

The c**ts called the police saying we were lying and they never leave the dog alone. They changed their mind when I showed the police my recordings and I threatened to charge the neighbours with harassment. All quiet since.

Look over the fence. Call it and say hello. Chuck it some treats. Repeat.

After a few days, break in, bung a lead on it, take it home and show it some affection.

Enjoy it for the next few years.

(Some of the above might not be sensible...)

Tried the RSPCA...their line..."If the animal is not in immediate danger, then we cannot take the call and direct you to our website (which doesn't help)".

Tell them it’s barking at an escaped Lion

Easily solved by inserting a piece of lead in the dog’s ear.

Can't blame the RSPCA - there's enough gits out there causing their pets more distress than separation anxiety.

However, the case will get a lot more serious if temperatures drop.

Or even get an anti barking control, which is silent to human ears
